JDG hosts Mersey Tigers media day

JDG Media hosted a media day at Mersey Tigers on Tuesday, to help them gain exposure ahead of their BBL Cup Final against Sheffield on Sunday, January 16th.

The day was arranged after an idea by head coach Tony Garbelotto, and TV crews from ITV’s Granada Reports and SKY Sports News came along, together with two journalists from BBC Radio Merseyside, and a number of local and sport specific press.

The Tigers also enjoyed coverage on BBC Radio 2′s Drive Time programme, and owner Gary Townsend and player Andrew Thomson were also invited on the BBC Radio Merseyside Breakfast Show.

On Sunday, the table-topping Tigers take on Sheffield Sharks for the first silverware of the basketball season, the BBL Cup. The game takes place at the National Indoor Arena in Birmingham with a 3.30pm tip-off, televised live by SKY Sports.

JDG continues to work closely with the Tigers, generating and distributing regular press releases to help increase reach and gain exposure, managing Facebook and Twitter channels to spread the word about the club and also managing and updating the club website, www.merseytigers.com.
